Characteristics

A really nice via ferrata near fairytale castle Neuschwanstein. Medium hard ferrata with a few sections of difficulty C and beautiful views and exposition. It's really fun and relaxed. Due to the fact that many climb it, the C has now become at least a C/D or a D. If you have problems with the crossing after the access ladder, you should definitely turn around and go the "Gelbe Wand"!

ATTENTION: at least until the end of May it is closed every year!

Arrival

Munich - continue on the motorway towards Lindau. Take the exit Landsberg am Lech and drive south along road number 17 around Schongau to Schwangau. Here turn left to the Tegelbergbahn cable car park.

Approach

From the parking lot, first along the forest road and then down the slope- From here, turn towards Gelbe Wand-Klettersteig, which will take you to the start of the ferrata.

Exit

Either take the Gelbe Wand-Klettersteig back to the valley, or alternatively go to the upper cable car station and use the cable car down.
