Characteristics

A quick and easy via ferrata with a nice element of a ladder and crampons on a vertical wall. However, very crumbly and dangerous on falling stones. Definitely don't forget your helmet and be considerate of your colleagues below you because of the very easy launch of stones.

Arrival

From Karlstadt along the river towards the north. After the town, when you see the rocks on the right side, look for the right turn to the Faltes cottage and its parking lot.

Onset

Follow the marked footpath from the parking lot to the Faltes hut and from the hut follow the signs for Lenzsteig. At the safety nets, the hiking trail goes to the top on the right and the via ferrata trail on the left. A ladder and climbing rope can be seen from the path.

Descent

From the top, follow the ridge along the beaten path towards the town of Karlstadt. You will come to a signpost and follow the signpost to go down back to the Faltes cottage and to the parking lot.
