Characteristics

The Kanzianiberg has been a destination for climbers for many years and is well known and loved far beyond the borders of Carinthia. In order to make it easier for the climbers to descend, numerous short via ferratas have been created. To combine these to a via ferrata is the charm of this tour.

In 2018, the Kanzianiberg also got a really difficult via ferrata with the Hara(ld)kiri and Kami(n)kaze variants.

Arrival

A2 until exit Villach / Warmbad, then on the B85 to Finkenstein. In the center turn right towards Burgarena Finkenstein and take the left-hand bend at a fork. After 1 km there is a parking lot on the left. By public transport: by train to Finkenstein.

Approach

From the parking shortly to the first rocks.

Exit

Coming back to the parking lot.

Interesting facts

If you have the via ferrata behind you, you can still visit the picturesque castle Finkenstein. From the castle, the view extends from Lake Faak to the white peaks of the Tauern.
