Characteristics

A one of the newly built via ferratas on Dachstein, which offers nice climbing, views and the possibility to connect the climb with other ferratas, or treks on the Dachstein. The Ferrata is not difficult but rather airy. Leads to Koppenkarstein (2865m).

Arrival

Linz - Schladming - Ramsau - here you turn to the cable car. The passage is payed - 14€. We paid 14€ even for leaving, so together 28€. Probably because we didn't use the cable car.

Approach

By cable car up to Hunerkogel. From there to Hunerscharte. Above the glacier, you will reach a small cable car, then go towards Rosmarie-Stollens and go through the tunnel. You will climb the Edelgrießgletscher and continue along the ridge to the start of the ferrata. Attention, it's quite possible that ice ax will be needed!

Exit

Down along the Westgrat-Klettersteig (B/C) until you reach the glacier and then back to the station.
