Characteristics
The Ferrata Sci Club 18 is a difficult via ferrata that from Cortina d'Ampezzo leads us to steep and athletic climb to Monte Faloria. The via ferrata is vertical, exposed and with difficult passages. Nice and demanding ferrata it is the real deal! There are some D passages where strong arms are needed to climb using the cable, but most of the way is on the perpendicular wall having a difficulty C. Resting passages are not so many, so its recommended to advanced climbers. You will be rewarded by a wonderful views of the surrounding mountains.
Arrival
In Cortina, at Faloria Cable Car in the city (at the bus station), you can park here but the space is limited. If that is the case, there is a larger parking lot (parchieggo) 200m north to the cable car station (Via ria de zeto street)
Another alternative is to drive up almost all the way to Lago Scin, there is a restaurant there too, but dont use thier parking. About 200m before you reach the restaurant, there is a lage area on the left hand side of the road, where it is possible to park.
Approach
The Cortina - Faloria cable car will take you to Mandres. Take the well marked road. If you do not use the cable car, it gonna be cca 50 minutes.
Alternatively, from the parking just before Lago Scin, walk up to the restaurant and on the other side of the road there is a trail, route 210 which goes towards the ferrata, there are signs for the ferrata. Nevertheless a trail map can be useful. It takes 45 mins to the start.
Descent
If you do not want to go by cable car, the descent into the valley takes approx. 90 minutes. Back to Lago Scin it is also about 90 minutes.
