Characteristics
The Adlerhorst via ferrata near Lake Arnisee was designed as a family via ferrata, although even the little ones will have to put in some effort. The via ferrata is also suitable for children, but children—or at least their supervising companions—should have some via ferrata experience. The longer wall section above the ticket office is a challenging C-wall! The route runs along a rock face directly above Lake Arnisee, and you can enjoy fantastic views of the lake and the surrounding mountains both while climbing and from the "summit."
Arrival
Intschi cable car parking area south of Amsteg. Cable car is 11CHF one way or 16 return.
You can also go up to Lake Arnisee on foot (there is a hiking trail to the right of the cable car). Including the via ferrata you reach a total elevation gain of almost 1000 metres).
Approach
From the mountain station of the Arnisee cable car, walk to Lake Arnisee and along the western edge of the lake until the hiking trail branches off to the Sunniggrat Hut. Continue uphill slightly, but soon afterward, the path to the climbing park branches off to the left in a bend. Follow the path to the start of the via ferrata near a small ladder.
Descent
From the exit, follow the path to the hiking trail and descend again to Lake Arnisee. Walk along the beautiful mountain lake to the cable car's mountain station.
